Privacy Policy

UniConnectly is a platform that connects university students with communities, events, and companies. We use your data only to provide that service, to protect you, and — only with your permission — to suggest opportunities to you. We do not sell your data.

What you provide when creating your account (name, email, university/department/year, date of birth, phone if given), your profile (avatar, bio, interests), and the interactions generated as you use the platform (memberships, event attendance, messages, recommendation feedback). The detailed list is in §2 of the Data Protection Notice.

Your profile (name, university, department, avatar, interests) may be visible to other members, communities, and companies within the visibility scope you choose, as is inherent to a community platform. You can control visibility from Settings. Your private messages are visible only to their recipients.

To suggest communities, events, and opportunities that suit you, we consider your interests, your department, and your in-app interactions (like / not interested).

• These recommendations are informational; they do not make any legally significant automated decision about you.
• We offer transparency through a "Why this recommendation?" hint, and you can turn recommendations off or object to them.
• Your "not interested" preference is private and never shared with third parties.

Companies do not see you as an individual. Only where your explicit consent plus your community's approval exist do companies obtain an aggregate (at least 5 people), personal-data-free view along the lines of "I can reach this audience through this community." Your name, contact details, and preferences are not shared. You can switch this off at any time.

Only with the infrastructure providers that run the service (Supabase — EU/Germany; Cloudflare — storage/CDN), under contract and for limited purposes. We do not sell or share data with advertising networks.

We use no advertising or tracking cookies in the mobile app. On the web, non-essential cookies run only with your permission (see the Cookie Notice).

To protect your data in transit and at rest we apply technical and organisational measures such as encryption, row-level access control, audit logs, and access restriction. (Details of the security configuration are not published, so as not to widen the attack surface.)

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account the deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone — there is no waiting period and you cannot cancel it. Only records that are mandatory as legal evidence (such as consent history, without IP) are kept for a limited period.

The platform is closed to anyone under 16. Minors aged 16-18 join with parental/guardian approval and are exempt from commercial sharing (career discovery) and marketing communication (see §7 of the Data Protection Notice).

You can exercise your rights under Art. 11 of the Turkish Data Protection Law (KVKK) in the app or via info@uniconnectly.com (access, rectification, erasure, data download, objection, turning off profiling/recommendations).

If we update this policy we will inform you; for significant changes we may ask for your approval again at sign-in.
