Terms of Use

The rules that apply when using the platform: eligibility, account responsibility, prohibitions, content rights, and disputes.

This document was drawn up in Turkish, and the Turkish text governs. This English version is an unofficial translation provided for convenience.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the UniConnectly platform ("Platform") operated by UniConnectly. By using the Platform you accept these Terms.

1.Description of the Service

UniConnectly is a platform that connects university students with communities, events, and companies. It offers community management, event organisation, announcement/content sharing, messaging, career opportunity discovery, and personalised recommendations. The service is provided as is; content and features may change from time to time.

2.Eligibility and Account

The Platform is intended for university students; it may not be used by anyone under 16. Minors aged 16-18 may use it with parental/guardian approval and are exempt from commercial features (career discovery, marketing).
You must provide accurate and current information at sign-up. You are responsible for the security of your account.
One person opens one genuine account; fake or misleading identities are prohibited.

2.1.Accuracy of Your Declarations

The information you enter on the Platform (name, university, department, contact details, institutional title, role and authority status, and the like) constitutes your own declaration. You are responsible for its accuracy and currency. UniConnectly is under no obligation to verify these declarations; where verification does take place (e.g. .edu.tr email verification) it is limited to the verified matter alone.

In the event of an untrue, incomplete, or misleading declaration, the relevant content or account may be suspended or closed; the party making the declaration is liable for any resulting damage.

2.2.Authority to Represent on Institutional Accounts

Anyone opening a community or company account declares that they are authorised to represent that community/company. Institutional accounts opened without such authority are closed, and any resulting liability rests with the person who opened the account. Upon application by the genuine rights holder we take reasonable steps to transfer or close the account.

3.User Responsibilities and Prohibitions

The following are prohibited:

Unlawful content, hate speech, harassment/bullying, threats, obscenity, or misleading content
Sharing that infringes another person's rights (copyright, personality rights, privacy)
Spam, fraud, malware, attempts at unauthorised access
Automated collection (scraping) of platform data, re-identification of individuals from aggregate data, or manipulating the recommendation/security systems
Disturbing other users or processing their data without permission

The content policy is aligned with the in-app complaint/reporting categories; violations may result in content removal and/or account sanctions.

4.User Content and Intellectual Property

You declare that the content you share belongs to you or that you have the right to share it.
Your content remains yours; you grant the Platform only a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence as necessary to provide the service (to display, distribute, and back up your content). When you delete your content this licence ends (except for backups/legal retention).
The UniConnectly brand, software, and design belong to UniConnectly.

5.Communities, Events, and Career Flows

Community and company accounts are subject to an additional Service Agreement (see the Service Agreement).
Career discovery / audience sharing works only with your explicit consent plus community approval, in aggregate and without sharing personal information (see §3 of the Explicit Consent Text).

6.Suspension and Termination

We may warn, suspend, or close accounts that breach these Terms.
You can delete your account at any time; deletion is handled according to our KVKK processes.

7.Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided "as is"; uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed.
UniConnectly is not responsible for interactions between users, third-party links, or user content. The rights granted to you by applicable consumer legislation are reserved; this clause does not limit them.

8.Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Türkiye.
The competent courts and enforcement offices have jurisdiction over disputes. Your right to apply to a consumer arbitration committee or consumer court is reserved.

9.Changes

We may update these Terms; for significant changes we will inform you and, where necessary, ask for your approval again.
